Should i switch from the S7 Edge to the Pixel 2 XL or something else?

Hey everyone. I wanted to know what you think i should do since i want a new smartphone but currently my choices are quite limited.

I live in Europe and i'm in one of those countries where iPhones are super expensive and Google doesn't sell their devices locally (need to import or travel by plane and get it from a retail store).

I like my phone now - got a few updates and is fast to an extent and i have tested its water resistance by now - but it was honestly not what i wanted (a long story but it basically was what the insurance company got for me as replacement).

I don't plan to play games that much on my phone and i frankly don't like and won't use earphones anymore (caused me some problems already in my ears). The dual front facing speakers are very enticing and so is the clean and renewed software before any other manufacturer and for a longer period of time, in time.

Do you think i should pay almost 1000€ to get a Pixel 2 XL 128GB? The headphone jack doesn't mean much to me and with that said do you think i will be losing anything more aside from that?

Honestly i have thought of the Note 8 256GB on eBay for about 850-900€ but then again it is still using Samsung software despite the hardware being great (no nice speakers tough :/). I have even considered switching for the iPhone X 256GB but then again for 1400€ it is a really bad purchase x-x!

Personally I won't in your situation. Travelling by plane just to buy a phone poses it's own problems of what to do in case of warranty issues, especially with the current problems of the Pixel 2 XL's screen. I'd wait a bit before pulling for it. Maybe look into an HTC U11 Ultra, or even just buy some speakers.
