Should i trade my gnex 4 gs3??

IMHO, if you are planning on rooting, you should get the best hardware available.... any high end phone will have good developer support....

We can only modify software, not hardware (for the most part)

At this point, I would if I could.

Verizon tech offered to let me swap my GN for GS3 and I flatly refused.
(after I kept complaining about a couple of radio problems, as well as
the lack of Jelly Bean OTA update)

In fact, the #1 thing that I learned after being with Verizon for 10+ years
is that if you complain and complain, they will let you swap your phone
for another phone(same or comparable model).

Samsung's already talking about the S4 (or SIV if you're hip...). Just the nature of the beast. I definitely don't see anything "wow" about the S3 over a proper gnex, let alone a rooted/rom'd one, and I doubt I will with the S4 either. If I had a DX etc. I'd be all over it. Having a 4.65" 720p HD screen, 1.2GHz dual core processor and a bit aged but solid GPU (230MHz to 1.8GHz and 384/512MHz in my case), 1GB RAM, LTE, NFC, a replacable battery (that gets me 15+hrs on stock battery if I need it), the latest and greatest Android software makes this phone about as future proof as can be in today's mobile market. I can't see any technology remotely on the horizon that my device won't be ready for, so unless I just decide I need to burn some cash I think this phone will keep me happy and will be cutting edge or at least competitive for many months to come.

If the OP was simply in the market to get ANY new phone I would agree with you regarding getting the best hardware available, especially if price is not an issue. If you're saying the hardware in the SGS3 is that much better (yes, it's better) to justify upgrading from a proper gnex I completely disagree. Also, yes all high end phones will have some developer support if you're into rooting/roming **for some period**. No other Android device can much the amount and/or longevity of Nexii phones dev support. Not even debatable.

If I traded in the Nexus for any other It'd be for the SG3.

Why not? Better screen, (vastly better)camera, processor+GPU, more ram, larger user support base...Its a no brainer, its a far superior phone. If you love mobile gaming like me, its no contest.

Yeah i probably would if i had the chance but it would HAVE to be white...i absolutely HATE the pebble blue....lol
but the thinner/lighter phone, better camera, larger screen, better radios, better battery life, etc. would have me all over it.

I love my Gnex....and i am completely happy with it still, and honestly, i dont need or want to trade it...but if the trade came up, i would in a heart beat.

I dislike touch wiz and like vanilla android a lot so id stay with my gnex........but the new moto phones have peaked my interest :P

Unsure what you mean by this, but it's not even close to the GN in terms of support, development, etc.

yeah developement is not anywhere near the nexus....however it does have the 2 main ones (CM and AOKP) so i would be happy.

Im guessing he probably meant more sales (GS3) would mean more support as far as things like accessories and such... We all know the verizon nexus is severely lacking in that department... we never did get a pogo pin car dock did we?

lol don't think we did TBH

If you're going to remain stock, stay with the Gnex. Touchwiz is, IMO, not as good as Vanilla Android and kind of ugly to boot. Also, despite some people's predictions of doom and gloom, it's 99.9% likely that we're getting our JB (and any subsequent) updates well before the SIII does.

I would...Oh wait, I DID. My GNex wouldn't give a 4G signal and could eat the battery in an hour. Hell, it wouldn't give a 3G signal half the time and would drop calls constantly, too. The GS3 is completely, totally, unequivocally worth the trade if you can do it. That's my .02
