Had it downloaded on my nexus for a while but not installed as read there has been issues. If it ain't broke don't fix it mentality. Working fine as it is although I do feel the battery drains quicker than I would like. Does the update help with battery conservation? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks :)

I haven't done the 4.4.4 update on my Nexus 7 2012 yet.
Im still running 4.4.2. You should be getting good battery life depending on usage, of course.

Here are recent discharge times from my tablet.
Of course this is with lite use.

18 days 21 hours 35 minutes 8 sec run time.
Screen on time was 2 hours 16 minutes 8 sec.
With 20 percent charge left.

All offline, consisting off bluetooth file, and picture transfer, but mostly gaming.
Mostly played Candy Crush.

I normally use my tablet alot more then this but I just got a new smartphone.

It does show how well
Battery life is conserved over time with kitkat.

Thanks very much b.diddy will give that a go. Don't get me wrong its not overly dramatic drain and I do use the tablet a lot both inside and out with 4g so its probably pretty accurate. For some reason my 2013 LTE nexus 7 didn't get the 4.4.3 update. Can I just update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4? Thanks again

Impressive results walterg1. I must say though I use the tablet a lot more than that daily. WiFi, 4g, video, music. Its probably accurate, I suppose I just like seeing the high number with hardly any battery diminishm :D thanks for your post

If the update tells you it's 4.4.4, it will include all updates from 4.4.3 as well. You might have to install more than one update sequentially--so in other words, once you finish with the first update, it might prompt you for another update.
