Should I update via the OTA GB?

Hey everyone. Way back when when we could download the (supposed equivalent) GB update to our Droid Pro's via a Zip file over the Summer, I did just that. However, when I did so, I had the same problem many other users had. The phone would force close almost all the time with the press of the spacebar in a typing app (such as texting). I reformatted my phone only to receive the same problem. I ended up fighting with Verizon to give me a new Droid Pro, but I don't want to have to do this battle again. Will the OTA GB be the same as that (in my opinion, buggy) Zip file? Any suggestions?

I did the same thing as you back in June, but never experienced the problem you speak about regarding the space bar. I have downloaded and installed the current Verizon OTA update (Gingerbread) and have experienced absolutely no problems. It is fast, runs smooth and I love the different color schemes and animations.

Hrm, then maybe mine was just a fluke. I know it's happened to a handful of people, but I'm sure Verizon would have fixed such a major problem by now, and if it's still a problem, I guess they'd just issue a new update. As of right now, I don't have a choice. My Pro is updating automatically and I can't do much to stop it :P
That sounds good! Okay. So maybe this isn't such a bad idea after all.

I posted a thread on this forum with a quick and simple fix for the spacebar issue. Didn't need to send the phone back.
