Should I use a tempered glass screen protector with the S10e?

I'm hard on my phones and drop them a lot. I have used a tempered glass screen protector with previous models I had (S3, S5, S7) and found them necessary. But that was when it was just a piece of glass you could stick on.

I've now bought two screen protectors (purportedly case friendly, because I have a case) on Amazon that I thought were like that, but both have come with glue and a UV light to cure the glue, and this is making me nervous. What if I screw up the installation? It seems pretty irreversible.

And why does the S10e need this special installation process, when it doesn't have the in-screen fingerprint detector?

Plus, maybe they've gotten better at making the screens durable than in previous models?

So far the plastic protector it comes with is doing a good job at preventing scratches, but it starting to develop bubbles and defects and it's getting annoying.

So my questions are 1) do I need a glass screen protector? 2) if so, do I need one with the glue and the UV light and all that? and 3) which one should I get?

The UV light curing glue makes it easier to slide the glass into the perfect position before it becomes impossible to move. Do you need one? I never used one, and I still don't. Plastic, to keep my finger from making rub marks on the screen, is enough. (And a good case, so that even if you drop the phone screen down onto hardwood, the case edges protect the screen. But that's just me.

Which one? They're all about the same hardness. (And if you drip the phone, screen-down, on a very hard pebble, the screen is going to break right through the protector.)

The full adhesive ones are flat and don't offer as much protection from what I've seen.
Depend on which one you buy. I'm using the one with black trim. It cover 100% of the screen.

The Zagg version is only clear that only fit center where the screen lit and kind of sharp, not 3D smooth.

That's why I specified full adhesive. The ones with black trim aren't.

It's cheaper than a screen replacement. I always use a case and screen protector and as many time as I drop my phone never any real damage.

I use iq shield rubber one. I don't care about how much clarity is lost. It is way more durable and fast cheaper, plus it actually adds grip.

I used the zagg tempered glass on mine and it definitely was worth the money . It saved my screen while in Disney after a dropped my phone on some concrete steps .

Where do you find the "old school" film screen protectors these days?

On topic though, I ordered these from Amazon on the same day I bought the phone on Swappa.
Works decent enough. I have a line half way down the right side where I just can't get it to lay all the way down though.

I love the fact that this phone doesn't have the infinity screen honestly.

Amazon has the wet application film type. I'm not sure about the 10e but the 10+ comes with the old fashioned type. Samsung has them.

It's not that the 10e needs a special process. That is how those type get installed.

I'd opt for that style of it wasn't wet install. Not a fan of that type of protector.
