I currently have a Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 and about to be going to college. I'm thinking about getting a note 10.1. Would you say it's something I would benefit from having in the classroom?

YES!

Check out some videos of a student using the Note in class. I am a teacher and use mine for meetings & marking up PDF files all the time. I have given up paper notebooks.

The Note is a fabulous device. Love it.

For note taking I recommend LectureNotes and the Wacom Feel Stylus.

If you are typing a paper for example, then I suggest the Logitech Tablet Bluetooth keyboard.
