Should phone switch to 4G during call

Got a quick question.

If I am on a call in a 3G network and I enter a 4G network, should my phone switch to 4G while I am on the call?

Sure. The data signal is independent of the voice signal.

Ok ... I will have to try to figure out why this is not happening and check to see if it only happens when I am on the phone. I know that when I am on the phone and I get into a 4G network, my phone still displays 3G.
