So far I’ve been unimpressed with this cam. Nothing is sharp at all in this photo. Almost like it completely missed focus and some cam movement that the ois didn’t or couldn’t stabilise.

2017 Subaru BRZ. Basically the same car as the Scion FRS, and Toyota 86.

I have to disagree with “far away better”. Look at the screen capture. The iPhone clearly has better DR here and doing a better job at capturing color and detail. Look at the water by the far bank as one of many examples.
Both cameras are very good. There is no “far away better” with most current flagship cameras.

I get you, but saying "far away better" is my way of saying that I prefer the S9' camera, there's no middle term for me haha,

I went out to test the S9+ camera today. I'm coming from the V20. Day shot look really good but night shot, not so much. I feel there is a lot of noise, even when the ISO is set to low.

I see a few where the phone didn't seem to know where to focus on this thread but I'd say a majority of the photos are pretty nice. Sport mode really helps with quick moving toddlers and selecting a focus point works very well if needed to bring the focus in where you want.

I’m unimpressed so far with the cams. All have been soft and show loss of detail (aggressive noise reduction smearing the details), soft focus and/or focus miss and lots of artifacts.
Maybe they’ll get some of this cleaned up with an update soon.

Some of these are at full zoom. I think all are shot in auto mode too.

I still am in favor of my 950 XL in certain camera departments over the S9+. It's not too bad though in auto mode. But only time will tell and if Samsung feels firmware is in order to aid certain camera anomalies. It's a great start though.
