I came from the V20 and I am positive the V20 manual mode can beat the S9+. Except for low lighting shots; the S9+ wins. You can check the V20 forums for my photos taken with the V20.

Yes, and manual mode on the S9+ can likely equal, if not exceed, anything on your V20. Being able to change the aperture on the S9 camera is a huge advantage, particularly if you are using manual settings and post-processing.

I do agree, at least for me, I think Samsung in simple point and shoot mode over-processes images. The S9 does appear to have a great camera, though, and enough quality for "most" people. To really see what the S9+ camera is capable of, I do think you need to shoot in manual mode -- but that is true of most any phone, or even camera.

I see a few where the phone didn't seem to know where to focus on this thread but I'd say a majority of the photos are pretty nice. Sport mode really helps with quick moving toddlers and selecting a focus point works very well if needed to bring the focus in where you want.

Ouch, that one is a smeared, artifact loaded mess. I’m continued to be unimpressed by the cam. Seems way to much over cooking of images, super aggressive noise reduction, especially in less than ideal light. Zoom a bit and it looks like a watercolored painting.

If u look at my other posts after that one, u see that I mention my pic upload quality looked crappy for both that one and the one I posted prior. That pic is not anywhere near what the true quality/resolution shows.

There is. You just need to enable it.
Open the camera, go to settings>>Edit Camera Modes>>Rear Camera.

First few photos with the new S9Plus. Son loves video games so I shot the Mario cereal. That is husbands cat who'd hating me at the moment since I'm the one that gives the flea meds. Then the little dog he follows me all around the house including the bathroom. All the time lol.
