Well then every reviewer is stupid because they all call it shutter lag. Even the vaunted MKBHD
Those reviewers don't even know how a camera works - it highlights the importance of getting your information from a good source. The fact that they are willing to spread misinformation like that should tell you everything you need to know about their channel. MKBHD in particular has devolved into a channel primarily bragging about all the expensive things he gets for free (notice he always has them positioned conveniently in the background or in B-roll), beyond that he just regurgitates press-release and website info like most other reviewers. If you want information about the camera, get it from a photography-centric source.
Shutter lag has literally nothing to do with a blurry photo. If they are getting blurry photos, they are using incorrect settings - it really is as simple as that. The core principles of photography do not change just because you're using a smartphone. The only thing shutter lag can affect is the photographer's ability to time a specific moment. The S23 series by default also takes a photo when your finger is released from the shutter button, not when you touch it, which is done to help reduce vibration but can give the perception of shutter lag. You can change this setting, and you can shoot in bursts which writes photos to a buffer and eliminates shutter lag entirely. The S23U has no meaningful shutter lag unless you are using the modes that require a lot of extra processing like the 200MP mode.
