I am sick of being at the mercy of AT&T for updates, and knowing them it will take forever for them to approve 4.2 when so many others will be getting it, so a few questions

1. If I flash my rom to Jelly Bean, do I have to use Cyagenmod (or whatever its called) to continue to get updates from them OTA? Or am I stuck with that 4.1 rom I have until I reflash for an updated version (that may fix bugs or whatever)

2. If I do flash to Jelly Bean 4.1, and when 4.2 does become available to the GS3, will I have to reflash and erase all my data (again) just to update it? Or can I still have all my data without having to download all my apps again?

Once you flash any aosp rom you will not get any OTA from AT&T, however there are some roms that offer an OTA for their roms. I do not think Cyanogenmod does. Have not ran it in a while. It is so easy to flash a new rom once you get the hang of it. For data you can get an app called titanium backup, which you can back up all of your app data so once you flash and all of your apps have finished downloading go into the app and restore all the application data. Use it all the time.

Ah yes forgot about Titanium Backup! I have rooted before but thanks for even more confirmation
