Side Loading Apps on a HDX 8.9?

Does anyone know if you are able to side load apps on the HDX 8.9 with the 3.1 update?

I currently have a HD 8.9 and have side loaded a lot of apps. I want to upgrade to an HDX but don't want to loose my ability to side load apps.

I have recently bought an HDX 8.9 and have sideloaded some apps too. The only problem I have is that some do not appear in my apps list. Not sure why.

Has anyone had a problem with YouTube lately? I successfully sideloaded Play Music and Gmail but YouTube spits back an error saying that my play services is not supported by my device.
