Apps that won't install on Flip 6

I have two favorite and useful apps that didn't transfer over to my new Flip 6 from my Flip 5. When I try to download them from the Play Store they download but won't install because "my device is not compatible". Now these ran perfectly fine on my Flip 5. Why can't I install them? What has changed? And is there any way around this? I have tried side loading them with the same result. Is there any hope?

I get the same issue with a bilingual dictionary program I have used for years. The app is called Slovoed Deluxe, from Paragon Software GmBH in Germany. They have many bilingual dictionaries -- I have been using the German-English version. Ran just fine on my Flip5, but when I try to download on my Flip6 I get a notice that reads "Your device isn't compatible with this version." No other information.

Could it be something in the CPU, the SOC, or some other circuit issue that makes it incompatible? Mystery to me.

I sent an email to the developer. No reply yet.

The app hasn't been optimized for the newer model phone yet. Let the developer of the app know.

Yep, Just sent email to the developer. Will se if they reply and if they intend to update.

I'm a type ii diabetic and I use a cgm, G7 and the Dexcom app is not compatible with the 6 series but worked fine without a hitch with my flip 4. It's such a bummer

The two apps are Clean Music and Silent Mode. I don't think Clean Music is available anymore but I have the apk for it. And that's one I really would like to see work.

Unless someone is able to recompile for a newer SDK version. You may be out of luck.

The base OS is the same (Android 14), but the Samsung version is different (One UI 6.1.1 vs 6.1 on the Flip 5) so there may have been some changes that removed something that your apps used. You have to get the developer to update their app. (And then Android 15 will come out and they may have to do it again!!). I have had apps that I used for a long time go bad with new OS versions. In some cases, especially with older apps, the developer may have stopped supporting it (you can tell by looking in the Play Store for the last time it was updated).

Yep, that was my experience. I have been using a particular multi-lingual dictionary app for many years, but it will not load on my Flip6 -- "incompatible device." I contacted the developer and they have since moved away from that type of app to another completely different line of software business; they have no plans or intent to offer any support of any type for this orphaned software. Had to go find another app and don't like them nearly as much as the old one.
