I can't seem to figure out how to add apps like gmail, Google Chrome to my frequent app tool bar. All I can do is click on a folder on the toolbar and then open gmail or Google chrome. If I go to "add favorite apps" in the toolbar edit those two apps (and some others) are not an option to add to favorite sidebar.

Also, I my galaxy 3 Gmail would have an indicator of how many unread messages I had, how do I see that?

Also, I can't find the recently used app toolbar. I have a toolbar that I thought was it but it has a bunch of ATT apps locked on it and is uneditable.

If there is no side toolbar that shows recent apps, how do I get to them easily. Long press of the home button no longer does this.

On the side panel there is a Star at the top. Tap the star and you will be taken to the app drawer where you can add to and remove apps from the panel.

With respect to the recent apps button it will be the button to the left of the home button.

One more thing I just noticed you asked about.

In order to see the apps you're looking for you will need to first remove the folder containing those apps from the panel and then they will be available to select individually.

Once you put the Gmail app on the side panel you will then see the number of unread messages displayed in a little bubble above the icon.

To add the recent app panel go to the manage panels/scroll to right/click the last panel, and download the edge task manager panel.

Edge Task Manager side panel does not seem to show any of the most recent apps I loaded. I am not sure what it shows... I notice that the menu button now pulls up most recent apps like the home button used to. I was sure their was a side panel could do this.

Also really missing the row of main apps along the bottom of the screen. I liked to see the number of unread messages and emails I had at a glance.

Did you seperate the apps from the folders so that you can see the unread messages?

See attachment.

Yes. I have gmail and GoSMS icons now on the favorites sidebar. However, unread email and message counts don't show up. I don't use the stock email app which you have showing unread messages. Perhaps there is a setting or app to get unread counts to show up?

Do those apps show the unread email counts when they are on the desktop? If not then I don't think they are going show on the edge panel. The stock email and message apps shows unread counts, and when they are placed on edge panel they will show the unread counts.

No, that don't show counts on the desktop. However they did not show unread counts on the galaxy s3 desktop either. Only when in the docked position.

I think I found the reason. Still need to find the solution. I am using Nova Launcher on my Edge. There is either a Nova launcher setting or an Unread Count app that will make unread counts to show up for me.

Update: Found an unread count feature in Nova settings. Needed to redownload the Nova Prime upgrade I already bought long ago to activate notification counts. Still notification counts are not showing on sidebar favorite apps Gmail and GoSMS.

However on the desktop the icons for these apps now show unread counts. So I have started a Faux Row of favorite Icons on the bottom of my desktop screen.

Odd that the counts don't show up on the side wedge.

I think you need the Telsa unread for Nova launcher.

There are 2 Edge Panels for favorite apps. I edited the home panel but can't seem to edit the 2nd Edge Panel of favorite apps. This is the one with Milk, Gallery and the AT&T folder. Is this second favorite apps panel editable?

The AT&T panel cannot be edited. For now you can place your six favorite apps on the edge panel, and put your remaining favorite apps in a folder on the edge panel. Hopefully Samsung will add another apps panel in the future.

Same with the Sprint version. You can only edit the 1 panel, not the 2nd. I have more apps I'd like to put on an edge panel but I'm sure something will come along to fix this before long.
