Sideloading Alternate Home Launcher

On my wife's og Fire I was able to sideload go launcher for her. Makes the Fire more like a traditional tablet. I tried the same on my Fire HD and none of them work! All I had to do was hit the home button on my wife's Fire and it gives the option for the Kindle home launcher or the Go launcher. Not a deal breaker but has anyone got any other launchers to work? I've been able to sideload apps no problem. Thanks

Actually, if you are rooted and put Go Launcher Ex in the system/app file and install from there and reboot, you can run go launcher. Biggest thing is, not only can you run it, you can set it as your default launcher, so every time you hit the home button, it will take you to go launcher instead of the annoying amazon carousel. There is an icon if you do want to go back into the amazon carousel so no harm or foul is done.
