Signal Always Changing

So to keep it short.i have been using my Note 8 for 2 months now with no issues. But recently i discovered that when I use 3G Only mode. The signal keeps changing like 3G to H+ then back to 3G then back again to H+. And it keeps on changing. Only workaround is using LTE/3G/2G mode. Where it would stay at 4G constantly. But at times i need 3G as the 4G signal is weak.

Anyone have a solution for this? I am using the Exynos version.

That's not a bug, it's a problem with your provider. If you see the signal change it means that the phone is switching either between networks or the network can't keep an HSPA+ connection stable (so it switches back to 3G). If you think the problem is switching networks, try forcing a specific provider and see if that helps (just note if doing so you might also force roaming and incur extra charges depending on your plan and carrier).

My phone, for instance, will do that if I'm close to the border (I live in San Diego, so the Tijuana border is nearby), and the phone will try to switch between Mexico's signal and T-Mobile's on this side depending on which one is stronger at the moment.

The problem is that it wasn't like that before... Now its so crappy...

Only way to determine if it's the phone is to have the same model at the same spot with the same carrier (or at the very least a phone that supports the exact same bands). Otherwise, maybe your carrier deprecated older equipment that might have supported 3G.

Also make sure you're not using a case that might interfere with your signal.

As i said before. Everything was fine. And suddenly it just happened... Im sure it isn't the phone or case(UAG Monarch)... It's just annoying...

OK I'm confused... your OP says you started noticing this when forcing 3G Mode... So before, even when forcing 3G, your phone didn't 'see' those network changes?

Sorry i meant whenever I use 3G only mode or 2G/3G it does that. Problem is gone if i use 4G/3G/2G as it would stay at 4G.but at some areas i need to use 3G as the 4G is much slower than the 3G.

Did you start using a new case that could be interfering with signal?

I am sure UAG Monarch isnt interfering with the signal... I am pretty sure it is the provider... As i am currently in Malaysia and signal is stable at 3G.
