About 99% of the time my signal bars are blue and data flows just fine. There are times however my signal bars will turn white but data still works just the same as if they were blue. I was under the impression white bars meant no data available.

Can someone perhaps clue me in? I've got a screen shot of the white signal bars I am talking about. And yes I was in a lovely edge area at the time.

I think grey means you are not connected to Google Services. I may be wrong.

I believe that is correct, you wouldn't be able to access Google services like the Market, Google+....

I'm in a fringe reception area and run white/grey 3g signal and voice most of the time if I'm not on wifi and I can still access the Playstore, Maps, Gmail etc. When they are blue, it is true you are connected to Google servers but I think it is mainly for sync services. I could be wrong, but that's my experience. :)

What?! ...I'm msndrstood.
