Signal Messenger

I was wondering if anybody here uses Signal messenger. I find it great as a messenger just only wondering what the point of it is if in order for it to be encrypted your friends have to have the same application as well? It's a tad bit faster as well then Messenger by google ( in my opinion)

Yes, both ends have to using Signal. (Encryption in a message that's not intended to be long-lasting [like documents, etc.] is never a bad idea.)

ok thanks! I guess I have to get everyone who I share the my netflix passwords and stuff to get Signal. Great app, but a pain to invite everyone.

No different than WhatsApp or any of the other messengers out there that offer encrypted communication - everyone has to be using the same client.
