Signal Strength Difference after JB

Unlike many people here I was happy with ICS and my Nexus except for reception, 4 dropped calls while driving in 3 months is bad to me, my Fascinate did not drop calls. My data connection inside my house was almost non-existent with the Fascinate and also with Nexus running ICS. I had no 3g signal in my home with Fascinate and no 4g signal with Nexus/ICS. I live in an area with strong 4g/3g coverage...except inside my house. My phone works as a phone in my home and that was it (unless I connect to my network via WiFi) so along came Jelly Bean.

I now average 10 mbps down and 1.5 mbps up inside my house since JB; reported on LTE-13 band, before JB I was connecting to LTE-14 on ocassion and it never would lock in and remain stable, once or twice Speedtest.net reported 0.2 mbps down and 0.3 mbps up, so I just got used to using WiFi in my home so my phone could receive data. The change was right after I installed JB, I am very happy with my Nexus right now. Quadrant scores went up from 2200 to 2400 average, that is not as significant as the reception improvement but I thought I mention it.

Does anyone know what is the difference between LTE-14 and LTE-13? I know without a doubt data reception inside my house went from almost nothing to 10 mbps after JB. Do you think JB is solely responsible for the change? or are there other factors I should consider? Thank you.

At work i went from only 3g to full 4g bars after JB upgrade. My co-worker with a razr maxx gets only 3g so it's not like they turned on a new tower.

No detectable difference for me with the new radios in terms of signal strength, but they do seem to switch from WiFi to 3G almost seamlessly why streaming iheartradio when leaving the house in the morning.

I've also noticed seemless switching WiFi to LTE. I'm in a very good LTE area so I only have 3g if I lock the phone there.

After JB my network performance improved noticeably. I have very poor signal where I work (underground data center) and the update fixed most of my issues. I had problems with data disconnecting and requiring a reboot to be restored...no more.

My speed test results rarely get over 10 but my iPhone 5 has gotten 40 mb /sec right next to it. App problem or limitations of device? I have added the results from the Nexus. And will post separately from the iPhone 5.

On average I get 12 mbps when out and about, the highest 4G result I have ever recorded is 23 mbps down and 14 mbps up. My measuring stick for how fast my data signal is; watching tv on slingplayer or movies on netflix, if I can watch flawless streaming while my wife drives I consider that all I need. Since Jelly Bean I have been able to stream better than 90% of the time, before JB the success rate was about 60% of the time.
