What number in the Sprint DEBUG program is the signal strength? Or is this number elsewhere? Others have reported dBm numbers, but I am note sure what number represents this. I want to compare the EVO with the Inc I have.

its in the settings menu under ABOUT, then status. at least that's where it is on the incredible and nexus one.

It's in the 1X Engineering menu under Rx Power. The higher the number the better. For example -81 dbm is better than -85 dbm

To get the information on the EVO you want. Go to your phone dialer and hit this:

*#*#4636#*#*

After that go to Phone Information for the dbm. Plus there are other section in this that are very useful.

you get -81 and -85?? strange, I always get whole numbers, nothing but -80, -90, and when I'm in the sticks, -110. But, I've never got an odd number like 81 or 85. Wonder why....

That's weird. Maybe you are on some older towers or a different carrier's towers? I always get a range as Cory did - on Sprint, ATT and Verizon.
