Whenever I try to text to a number(not a phone number) I get a message that says "message blocking is active"
Is this something I can turn off. I have tried everything

Welcome to the forums.
Do you mean a short code? As in you are sending a text to a 4 to 6 digit number? Your carrier may have that restricted. I would call them and see what they can do.
