One of the (very few) things that I miss about iPhone, is the ability to silence your phone simply by flipping a switch on the side of the phone ... BOOM - done. Didn't even have to open the phone.

Obviously you can't do that on a Samsung device, or any other Android device (that I'm aware of).

Is there an app/widget for Android that can immediately silence my entire device with no fuss? More specifically, one that can live on the AOD Screen so you don't have to access the phone to get it done?

One Plus phones have an almost identical button to the iPhone's silence switch on the side and there's possibly others. You don't have a One Plus phone however so I'll stick to your question.

Other than using Google Assistant or Bixby to do it with your voice, you could always try remapping the Bixby button to act as a mute button like in this link-

The quickest way is through the notification pull-down bar at the top of the phone. One of the icons toggles from sound to vibrate to silent. You can also rearrange the icons so that the ones you use the most are on the top row.

I hate that iPhone button on the side. Put my phone numerous times in silent mode just by slipping it in my pocket or jacket. The protective flip cover luckily cured that.
But I would hate to see Samsung incorporate such a button. I mean, just look at the bixby button.
