Does anyone know of a way to put the phone on silent without going through all of the menus and into settings? Is there a toggle switch like there is to turn WiFi on and off? Thanks for any ideas

I downloaded an app from the market called QuickProfile. You can set up several different sound profiles, including a silent one, add the icon to your home screen and just tap it to get into it. Works well too so far...of course I've only had it a few hours and tried it a couple times....but it's worth a shot I guess.

Thanks for the help! I also just found out if you press and hold the end/power off button, a menu pops up to turn on or off silent, airplane, vibrate modes and a few other options

Sure. If, on a home screen, you press the "+" as if you wanted to add a widget, then choose HTC widget, then choose "Get more HTC widgets", there is one called Profile. Choose to download that and, when it is installed, it will be in the "Settings" section under "HTC widgets".

Touch that widget and you the get a menu to choose sound on, vibrate, or silent.
