Silent Phone Calls on my Gear S3 Watch

My Galaxy Gear S3 is connected via bluetooth to my Galaxy S5 phone and phone calls ring out on both my phone and watch. When I answer on the watch nobody can hear me if I speak into the watch - the phone picks up the sound of my voice instead. I also cannot hear a caller on the watch speaker when I answer on the watch. Please advise how I set up my watch to make and take phone calls coming into my bluetooth-connected S5 phone.

I wish mine would work the other way around... if connected to BT I want my phone to pick up if I swipe on the watch. If I am connected remotely thru LTE I would like to answer on the watch.

Mine is the Wi-Fi model.
