Looks like we going to see more manufacturers going silicon-carbon battery soon especially in the US.

I was a little bummed to see that this is a twist on a Lithium ion (not stated in the article. This was my own searching). The advantages are pretty good. It's just the name also implies that it is a completely different battery technology.

Google would likely be the last to embrace Si/C batteries. Pixel series phones suffer from battery issues sometimes [4a, 6a atleast and in some cases 7a as well] and their charging speeds abysmal as well compared to rest of the industry.

*Solid-state batteries

Google put magnets in the back of the before Samsung so you never know.
