Still a noob here and Sprint defector, so I've never had a SIM card.

I understand that the SIM card is mine to take to the next phone, etc.

So, my question is:

Do the contacts automatically get added on there, or do I have to transfer them into the SIM card manually? If so, how?

Thank you!

I'm not sure if you can export contacts to the SIM card, but it looks like you can import them.

Go to the phone application, press the phonebook icon to the right of the big, green call button. Then, click on the all contacts button (all the way to the left). Press menu, import/export.

The only settings I see are import from SIM card, import from SD card, and export to SD card.

There's really no need to import them to the SD card. Droids, Blackberrys and iPhones can all setup sync to your Google account where all your contacts are backed up to normally.

You mean export them to the sd card? lol

ahah, yeah that caught my eye, too

it's like hearing, "where are you bringing it to?" instead of "to where are you taking it?"

bring--from there to here (bring it to me)
take--from here to there (take it to you)

sorry. had to say it.

yeah, Droids all have google back up to sync contacts to your online account (viewable with gmail), so theres no need to export to the SIM card unless you're not going to be within range of a Wifi network/Cell network when you activate a new device

qbngator, I found a way to do it.

Go to the contact that you want to export to the SIM card and view the actual contact information. Long press on the phone number and click on save to SIM.
