Have not had any issues in a long time... Started getting random "Sim card unmounted " messages I have to pull my Sim card to get service back. Happens every few days. Any thing I can do?

Something similar has been happening to my GN in the last two weeks. Random reboots throughout the day, as well as messages that pop up on screen saying "SIM card not found" or "Invalid SIM card" followed by "You must restart your phone". I brought the phone in one day to a Verizon store and their only solution was to pull out the battery and SIM card, wait a few seconds, then put it back in. Then they pat me on the head and send me off like I was some silly kid with an overactive imagination. No explanations, no theories offered.

I do remember seeing an article online about some guy who was able to crack the security on SIM cards. The carriers were notified and apparently have "fixed" the vulnerability by sending a software patch directly to individual phones. Perhaps that may have something to do with it.

yeah I already pull the sim when it happens.

might be right about that..my parents said they where getting similar sim issues for a week or 2 on their tbolts. theirs have stopped though. mine happens at least ones a week still. ( Monday was the last one as of now)

I had this same issue last week. I took a screen shot to prove to vzw rep that it was happening. They replaced my sim card and no problems since

UPDATE: the problem happened again last night and I brought my GN to the Verizon store this morning. They replaced the SIM card. I then left and a couple of hours later I couldn't make or receive calls. Even the My Verizon app couldn't log me in because it wouldn't recognize my number. I went back to the Verizon store and they took my phone, pulled the battery and SIM card, waited a few minutes and then put them back. Miraculously everything was fine and I could make and receive calls again. I did have to re-register with My Verizon as my account all of sudden became inactive. As usual, the Verizon people have no idea why all this happened and tried to sales talk me into signing up for a new phone. SMH.

Same Here!cI lost signal and sim card not found. I removed and installed 5 times to clean the contacts. problem seems to have been solved

Hi,

If you already changed the SIM card, then it seems that there is a problem with the phone. Maybe the SIM reader is not working properly and may result clever return the unit and get a new one.

Regards.
