I've gotten 3 different sim cards in the last couple of weeks. One came with a G2, it's got the wider gold contacts on it. The other is a replacement due to a lost phone and has a smaller foot print, then I got a new mytouch 4g and it is yet another design.

See pictures. they are all TM 9703, but all have different numbers on the front.

I ask this because the newest Mytouch, using the sim that cam in the box, is actually getting steady 3g when no HSPA is available while the other two sim cards I've used in both the mytouch and G2 have not yielded a 3g connection, only H or E.

Anyone have any insight into this?

I spoke with a rep earlier today and he said that despite my newer SIM i got in October when I bought a g2 (which I THINK may have been my old Sidekick SIM from a year before that), he said there are even newer SIM cards which do a better job of connecting to the 4g/*H*SPA network; maybe this is what you're experiencing where it's 4g-H or Edge-E only on the one card and the other is much older and more geared to a 3g network?

Will the phone say 3g when your on 3g? I ask because I just got the phone and it goes from H straight to E when switching bands.
