Sim not detecting

Hi Guys
After my HTC one X fell down from the desk, its not detecting the sim card. I took it to the service center, and they said only option will be to change mother board!! And it costs almost 3/4 of the new phone itself! Any idea what can be the problem? Will I really have to change mother board??

Try putting a couple of pcs of tape on top of the SIM card. It will be a tight fit but I had to do that on mine.
