Simple Keyboard/S Pad question

So I only really use the keyboard and the S Pen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, I don't use the voice typing. However for some reason now the icon on the keypad has set itself to the voice recorder as default (it used to be keyboard when I was using the pen and it was the icon for the pen when I was using the keyboard). Now I have to switch by holding down the button and selecting the appropriate option, a small problem and a major annoyance non the less. Anyone know how to change this? I can't seem to figure it out.....hopefully you understand what I am asking. Appreciate any help, thanks.

Can you go into settings, then language and input, and then uncheck "google voice typing"?
