Simple ROOT instructions?

I have a Nook Color that I want to hack (root). I have the micro SD card and need to know the best option to use to root. Basically I want my nook to still be able to read the books I have downloaded from B&N, but I also want the andriod market and to be able to download those apps and games. What option is best for me?

I wanted the same options as you about reading books. I used these instructions and they worked perfectly.

I ended up putting CM7 on an SD card. A few short comings with using alot of apps with the NC. Perhaps it was the launcher I was using but CM7 rocks!

All of your books are available in your B&N library account so if you go with a full CM7 install and then install the Nook app for Android you will still have access to them when you sign in. You will just have to download them again.
