So for example I send a video/picture through simple share on may 2. The person I sent it to says that the message says it was expired april 26...??? How can it expire days before I send it? Is there a settings change somewhere? I've looked everywhere with no luck...

Does the same happen if you send it directly from the messaging app (attach picture)? These expiration dates are usually handled by your carrier, not the app or phone you're using, but it wouldn't hurt to try the above or even try a different messaging app.

it's weird...i really only use simple share for video clips so they don't get compressed and lose quality...simple share goes through samsung directly right?

i actually just checked on the normal messaging app(not the verizon messaging+ I use) and the messages from yesterday still say sending with a spinning circle...

You are right, Simple Sharing goes through to Samsung's servers if the file is too large for MMS or the recepient's phone doesn't support Simple Sharing.

I just tried it to my work phone and when sharing the image I do see the expiration date set for tomorrow on my phone, and when I get the link, it also says it expires tomorrow. If you go to the contact you sent something to you should see a history of the messages sent; there I see the message sent to my work phone and the text body also states 5/5 as the expiration date.

UPDATE: Apparently also in the Contact's information there should be a Simple Sharing entry with the stated expiration date. If you tap that one it takes you to a screen where you can further see all sharing history, and that should list all shared files with their corresponding expiration dates.
