Since Samsung Galaxy Note upgrade to Jelly bean- email not pushing unless in sync mode

Can anyone advise please? I upgraded to Jellybean from ICS a couple of days ago and now my email will not push. I have no email come into my phone ever since- unless I sync all accounts. They were not synced before and email was pushed in. I do not want to sync the accounts I have as it drains battery and also downloads lots of mail that I do not want from months ago.Have cleared cache, data and force stop.
Why is my email not working? I do not intend doing a factory reset with all the work involved in setting up phone again. I have tried deleting all email and adding them again and still not working.
Jelly bean has changed several things. There is no refresh option for email and there is no clear cache option for email either.
is there any way to go back to what I had before? OR- how can I get my email to work? Still is not working unless synced. Even called Samsung and nobody knew how to fix this. They are denyying there is something wrong with jellybean, and just saying it has to be synced to get email, but there are SO many people on the internet with the same problem- there must be something wrong somewhere. It pushed email through before on ICS without sync, but since upgrade to Jellybean it has not. Not willing to do factory reset just to see if it rectifies the problem. Lots of work setting it all up again with the amount of stuff on my phone.
 
Same to me. Unfortunately, I don't have Samsung cell-phone support phone number to call. Never knows, another support guy can help - If you have number you can post here. If it's real issue, then more ppl call them, mostly they will fix the issue.

I like Samsung Note, But the email is so Suxx - I have yahoo and gmail (using Samsung/Android email app - the one that comes with Android). Almost all the times, user have select and delete few times before the email thread are actually deleted. I don't know if anyone out there have same experience.
 
For me, it would take at least a day until Jelly Bean is "broken in" on a device. After that, sync for all accounts should work, as well as any other conflicting problems.

However, it takes a while longer on TouchWiz, Sense, Motoblur and any other OEM skinned ROMs to sync, as the entire process is slowed down by any extra OEM-supplied activity.

I called them twice at Samsung, and nobody seems to know how to fix it and they just keep saying email settings have to be on sync. It never had to be when on ICS. This is surely not right??? If JB is supposed to be an upgrade it is not good if it has broken things that were ok before.Loads of people have the same problem. If you google this you will see how many.

Ah, then disregard my previous post then, as I NEVER run stock ROMs on my phone unless I'm selling it or returning it for service.

Either way, since new email messages aren't being pushed to your phone, I'm afraid that you'll have to sync the affected accounts at regular intervals. I've also had this problem back when I had a Galaxy Note, but in most cases this problem is solved by using a different ROM instead of TouchWiz stock.

If you don't want to risk voiding warranty, try deleting all user accounts and re-adding them. It's likely that something was incorrect during the setup process for the accounts.
 
I am in US. AT&T. As mentioned, I have same problem. in JB Android Email App, can be added yahoo email and gmail gmail account, it allow to set scheduling email to sync - Never, Minimum is 15 mins, 30 mins, ..., .... or Once a day. And it does not have Push sync as email arrive.

I have fresh and pure ICS 4.0.4 Samsung (not any email has been setup, no another other APs installed), Then upgrade to JB thru Kies USB.
After upgraded, all done, I have added email accounts (yahoo and gmail). Since then noticed that it does not auto-sync as email arrives (Pushing). But Can be set to minimum 15 mins (TOO LONG to sync) - in my opinion they should have more option, 1 min, 3 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins before 15 mins - I don't know, who designs minimum 15 mins to sync, sure he/she is out of since, and does not use Samsung product ( I also have Motorola, which does not have this issue).

Spent more than an hour speaking with AT&T support. lastly asks me to delete all email accounts and re-add them in. WHAT for? when it was on 4.0.4 (ICS) it did not have any emails account setup. The email account is added straightly and started in 4.1.2 (JB).

If you have less 1-2 emails accounts can you try to delete all of them, reboot the phone, then add them in and see ? and share with me if it does fix?

By the way, Do you guys experience that sometimes, you selected several email threads and tap on Delete - It indicates 'Deleting" then message Deleded.
 
To get this issue fixed you need to
go to settings > data usage > under the mobile tab, click on the menu button (touch) > select Auto Sync data.

Update: ok i noticed that it just enables the sync functionality, which is not what we looking for. I will try to find a solution then i will get back.

Is there any solution to this issue? I am also experiencing the same issue. And frankly this is a great disappointment.
 
Same story here ....

Just upgraded to 4.3 JB on my NOTE 2

Push email don't work unless sync is turned on ....don't know whether this is a bug or an intentional change
 
Same frustrating thing with me.

they don't accept the fact that in 4.1.2 it used to work with out sync turned ON.
According to them SYNC is supposed to be ON all the time

I have now agreed with Samsung that i will post a Video showing PUSH working in 4.1.2 with SYNC turned OFF..
Unfortunately I do not have anyone with 4.1.2 around...you can help making a clip if you have a.4.1.2 samsung phone so we could make them agree that it was working earlier
