Since the last update the speaker is not working

Since the update yesterday my phone plays all the sounds through the speaker for calls and not the loudspeaker. The loudspeaker is not broken, it works just fine putting someone on loudspeakers during a call, but everything else including alarms, YouTube videos, and such go to the tiny speaker for your ear. Meaning it's almost impossible to hear the alarm for example. So definitely a software issue and I don't know if there is a setting for that (why would anybody put the regular sounds on the call speaker?).
