Hi,
using 7.0 (recent update), before the update, when I was texting there was a setting that kept the screen on as long as the messaging app was open.
since the update, that seems to have ended and I can't find the setting to keep it on

any help?

Bueller?? Bueller?? Bueller?? ( :) )

I can't answer specifically regarding the change in your device, however I use this great app to keep the screen alive when Endomondo is running when I am at the gym. Yeah, I know Endomondo added this function a few updates back, but the cool thing about this app is that it allows you set an app to go to screen dim after a period of time - the screen stays on, but at reduced brightness to conserve battery.

Check it out: Stay Alive, https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ils?id=com.synetics.stay.alive&token=C6RaLL_U

You need to enable it for the specific apps you are interested in.

Settings -> Enable Selected Apps (check the box) -> Keep screen on ONLY for selected apps -> Select apps that will Stay Alive.

yeah, both are as you described and still no luck (I'm trying to upload a screen shot, let's see if it works):

OK! I think I figured it out:

there's a setting labeled: "APPs with usage access" and I tried enabling SA! and it seems to be working...

thanks for your help!!

CHEERS!

update: PS and by the way, that app "SA!" while worked really well, and lots of options within the app, was clearly a battery drainer.

I found an app called "Keep Screen On" which, while offers less options (what options does one really need anyway?) is much smaller, serves the same purpose (you can select the apps you want to be effected) and doesn't drain the battery (nearly at all), and it's also free.

Interesting comment; I haven't noticed any battery drain at all and have been using Stay Alive! for well over a year now.
