Single legecy UDP Verizon LG G3 out of contract?

Can I go to another LG G3 or G4 and just move the SIM card to the new phone to keep UDP? Can I upgrade to a G6 and just cut down the SIM card and keep UDP with Verizon? Do locked & unlocked phones make a difference when switching with UDP?
