Size of high end Androids......they're all too big!

Your opinion of a phone doesn't disqualify the phone. I think the OP's point was that there are a bunch of 4+ inch phones coming out and very few under 4 inches that are high end.

I just had to make sure and yes you are Samsung owner so you would say that. But go beyond the BS you will see my point in hardware/software level. Mostly the diehard fanboys like yourself will disagree as its your nature but if you think Galaxy S models are viable LOL Now they are not producing it as no one wants it as its supply and demand they have to go with what is profitable.

It could just be an overcompensation thing for some people....I'm not sure. I know for me, that a small phone is perfect. 3.5" screen would probably be perfect and I'm just afraid that 1 year from now there will be nothing under 4" except for low-mid range devices.

At the very least, having a small second phone can come in really handy when having a 4+" phone is just not very convenient. Again, maybe this is just for active people like myself who like to get out of the house......

Or it could be that people just like big screens!

Think about it, would you rather watch a video on a 32" screen or 60"screen?

Bigger is better when a screen is concerned, and as far as typing, it's so much better on a large screen, looking at photos you took, showing things off to friends, e readers, apps, all look better on a bigger screen.

I'm active, hate being cooped up in the house, but once I got a big screen phone I'd never go back to a mini phone ever again.

Bigger is just better

After having my Evo I could never go back to a smaller screen and yes, my Evo lives in my pocket just fine. Not too big at all.

For your information, I've only had a Samsung for a little over a week. Diehard fanboy? I would take an HTC phone over a Samsung phone any day. I only switched because I didn't think my Aria would be supported much longer by the dev community. Not producing it? I'd like to see where you got that information. No one wants it? Tell that to the sales numbers.

Yes, they have issues. I never said Samsung made perfect phones. I'm necessarily saying you're wrong either. Just don't try to pass your opinions off as fact.

It all depends on the user. Being 6' tall with large hands a 4" phone is perfect for me. My phone fits perfect in my pocket. The DroidX is a very thin phone, just taller. My smaller BB took up more room in my pocket or about the same because of the thickness of the phone. The larger screen also makes browsing the internet and anything else on the phone much easier.

I wasn't actually talking about the Galaxy S being not produced as I was saying only reason they are coming out with bigger phone as simply because people want it as its supply and demand, as bigger is better as I have always said when it comes to screen. lol I also liked your crack attempt at HTC to consider they are the only one who has flagship device in almost every carrier and only thing Samsung mange to do is give people like you phone then when you have problem they won't fix it but sell you another one. I wouldn't accept Samsung device even if they were to offer it to me free as I have said that also many times.

If you read again you'll notice I said dev COMMUNITY. I have nothing against HTC, and my next phone will most likely be an HTC.

I didn't buy a Samsung phone for the support, I bought it because it fit my needs and price range. But to each their own, no one is making you use a Samsung.

I have used a Captivate for 5+ months and I live its power and beauty, but I just recently purchased an HTC Aria and that little guy is an amazing device! Its pocketability is a huge plus for me.

My concern is that all the new high end phones are 4+ inches and I think that people would be surprised by how much they would love a high end 3.2" Android device.

Thoughts?
I have been a happy camper with the T-Mobile G1. The problem is that it has a 3.2 inch screen. I am leaving T-Mobile to Verizon only for the large screen... I guess it's a matter of taste (and eye sight...)

I think there is a nice diverse selection of high end Androids, small to big, whatever you prefer. Why do you think they are all "to big?" where do you shop for Androids?

Bigger is definitely better, my Nexus One has a 3.7 inch screen and it's too small.

My next phone will be at least 4 inches.

BTW You cant have a small screen on a high powered device with a high resolution display, iPhone 4 is a good example the 3.5 inch screen is too small.

I must admit that when I went from my old TREO to the Palm Pre, I loved the small size so much I commented on it to my phone geek friends. But now that I have an EVO I love the big screen, my clumsy fat fingers are much more accurate on it. Part is what you are used to, but I'm never going back, even though the EVO with 3500 amp battery in my front pocket does make the girls think I'm happy to see 'em!

I have a tab and a dumphone.....carry them both. Tab in the back pocket and dumphone in the keys pocket. My buddy has aria and we both think eachother are crazy. Cool thing is, we both have android to serve our needs.

TuxDotKing got a Droid 1. He was perfectly happy with it's 3.7" screen. But then he got a Nexus S. He fell in love with it's 4" SAMOLED. It made his Droid (which he was stuck with as his main phone) feel... inadequate. Then he started to noticed peoples' Droid Xs more and more. He envied them, he thought, "Why can't I have a screen that big and bright?" It drove him mad, to the very depths of insanity... Until one day, he heard about the Droid Bionic. High resolution. 4.3" screen. Tegra 2. It would be his next phone. He would get it, and he would finally be satisfied.

Until two days after purchasing his Droid Bionic, in Best Buy, when he had the fateful thought: "Hmm... I've never really looked at the Dell Streak until now..."

TO BE CONTINUED ;)

Lol. Story's all true up to the Dell Streak. 5" is not a size I'm interested in, it's too big to be a smartphone and too small to be a tablet IMO. And about pocketabilty concerns, I'm pretty thin. I wear skinny jeans every now and again. In them I can fit the original Nintendo DS and still walk comfortably, with a slight bulge. That in mind, I'm not too concerned about holsters and cargo pants, a little-in-comparison 4.3" phone will fit in my pockets just fine and dandy, skinny jeans or not.

I agree, the streak is too big to be a phone and too small to be a tablet (but them again so is the galaxy tab)

I wouldn't touch it

To a lot of people, 7" is the perfect form factor for a tablet. Personally, I prefer 10", but I think it's safe to say anything 7 and up can be considered a tablet.
