Skin Protector over Case?

I've been following the forums since the phone first came out. I've looked at the types of cases people have been using and have not seen anything that I have really liked for long term use. I don't like having a lot of bulk and some cases don't really have appealing designs.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever used a skin cover on their phones before and how they liked it. I'm seeing on amazon that Skinomi has some that don't look bad. But I'd like to know people's experience with them before I let go of the current case that I have.

I'm not worried about dropping the phone since I am in class or at work and not moving around with my phone. Just trying to find an option to just let my phone lay on my desk.

Maybe skins can replace my case?

I've tried Skinomi's screen protector for my Droid Maxx and now my new Moto X, they weren't as great as advertised. So I question the quality of their skin since the holes for the screen protector didn't match up to my Moto X. I'll wait for dbrand to release their skin.

I just checked them out on their website, I've never heard of them before.

Have you used their stuff on your phones before? If yes, how was the quality?

I just ordered a screen protector from Motorola's website to replace my Skinomi. This was my 2nd time giving Skinomi a try, I will never use their products again. I emailed dbrand and they told me that they're working on the new Moto X skins, they have a pretty good reputation when it comes to phone skins, so I'll look into that when it's out.

I would say wait until dbrand comes out with a skin if you're looking for one. I've had their skins on a nexus 4 and 5 and both were top quality.

I applied a XtremeGuard Skin bought off ebay to the walnut back of a 2013 Moto X. Overall I'm happy with the results and now will go without a case. It does make the back more reflective, actually gives the wood grain a wet glossy look to it. What I like is that the back is more grippy and the walnut finish shows through. I see they make them for the 2014 Moto X as well.
