Skip 5.0.2 through Settings and go to 5.1.1?

A while ago, I got the notification that I could update to 5.0.2 through Settings, but I heard that bricked some N9s, so I just stayed on 5.0.2. Recently, I heard that 5.1.1 really improved performance, so I went into Settings > About > System Update to update, but there's no button to check for new updates, just the update to 5.0.2 message. Is there any way to skip 5.0.2 and go straight to 5.1.1 through Settings? Should I just risk 5.0.2 and then update to 5.1.1, or is it possible to skip 5.0.2, or should I manually get a 5.1.1 ROM?

1. If it bricks the phone, Google is responsible (although your carrier will probably unbrick it for you).

2. You can't update more than once every 24 hours over the air, so you'll be stuck with 5.0.2 for at least a day unless you update to 5.1.1 (see #4).

3. 5.1 fixed the memory leak that started in 5.0, so unless you're on 4.4.4, it pays to update to 5.1.

4. The only way to update directly, if Google isn't offering you 5.1+ is to do it manually. See Nexus 9 - XDA Forums for help with that.

OK, thanks Rukbat! I just updated to 5.0.2 OTA, seems to be working fine, guess I'll just wait for 5.1.1. Thanks for clarifying everything!
