Skype Issue - Constant restarts

I've been having an issue with Skype where when opening from the notification bar, it basically restarts Skype every time I do that. It also then doesn't show the latest messages. Receiving message is hit or miss (more miss than hit) with it taking minutes, hours, or never appearing on the phone. Sometimes when I get the notification for a new message, I will click on it and Skype restarts and the message does not appear. I believe this started happening after the 4.1.1.

I've tried clearing the data, reinstalling and uninstalling and it's always the same.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but int he notification area, it will says "Skype Available" and then a time from several hours ago.

Any ideas?

I had this issue on my Droid Maxx so I stopped using it. My issues began after an update and it would constantly show me the blue log in screen. It appears to have gotten better since the most recent Skype update but I haven't had a lot of time to test it. For now there is nothing that can be done other than see if you have the latest version from the Play Store.
