The slider mech on my Epic is loose. It has some oreo twist to it, as well as separation/noticeable gap w/ play between the two halves of the phone. Can Best Buy repair this, or will they exchange the phone? Already been back once today for a defective screen. Don't really want to go back for another phone swap. Thanks!

Sliders on just about every device that has it are never perfect. It's just how they are...

This is my second phone of the day. The first was pretty tight. Guess I just have to live with it?

Mine's pretty tight, but as long as it isn't coming off, then a little twist won't be a problem.

Sent from my awesome Epic 4G

I just tried to wiggle mine when closed and it seems reasonably tight. I would think that some "play" would be normal however.

Mine has a very small amount of play when closed and none when open. If it stays like that it will be great.

If you want to see a slider with a lot of twist check out a Palm Pre.

Had a lot of play and rattled. Best Buy swapped it out for another today. Third phone in two days, but this one is perfect. No complaints whatsoever.

Don't miss the Pre one bit. Thought that I would lament the loss of WebOS, but I'm taking to Android rather quickly.

The best slider I ever felt was on a Nokia N95 8GB...and that was after I did a mod that was on a website. Generally Nokia mech is pretty good, but sliders, being moving parts are going to go wonky on ya. And assembly tolerances aren't that high either (this isn't a jet fighter) so you are going to see wiggles. The best is that you get one (if you are lucky enough) that was assembled by the employee who's always "on point". If you do go out and buy a lotto ticket.

My slider wants its fully open it seems to get stuck on the charging port so i have to wiggle it out sometime anyone else has that problem?
