Slider Performance Question (Compared to Modded V)

Is it common for the Slider to not run Angry Birds very well? My girlfriend gave me a V for Christmas.. Since then, I flashed Harmonia 2 along with some other unrelated customization. I overclocked it to 825 and Angry Birds runs quite well (even on the higher levels w/ more objects--practically no lag). However, I bought her a Slider (assuming it was an improved V w/ a keyboard) yesterday. Since then, I flashed the Gelato 11-28 ROM and the optimized GingerKernel found on this forum. The phone runs pretty well, really--aside from Angry Birds. It runs alright at earlier levels, but later it becomes quite laggy. Is there anything that can be done about this? She really loves the birds.. lol.

Thanks in advance!

Unlike the OV with it's 3 processors the Slider only has the one processor at 800Mhz so it is likely to always choke when the graphics get intense.

Its all depending on the services you have running. Try your best to keep everything at the minimal when opening up and closing down your phone. I haven't encountered too much lag with this phone. And I've had it since the release. Also iam running the 11 28 ROM with the GK.

Thanks for the reply.

I believe I am keeping them to a minimum. Other than Angry Birds (and I would assume the same for other games that are as intensive), I don't see any lag either.. Menus are responsive, Opera is quick, Facebook is solid, etc. It's at level 21 of the first world when the lag becomes very noticeable. Does this not happen for you?

Thanks again.

are you high? facebook has done nothing but force close and lag since they've updated it. its so pathetic.

This is anecdotal but I have noticed that the OS runs faster thru launching apps and things like that, but the OV wins on graphics. Both are very low end phones on the spec sheet so I do not expect too much out of mine.

I have to agree that the multiple processors on the OV seem to make a difference for graphic rendering. I do not even try and play anything but simple puzzle games on my OS - I save that for my asus transformer.

I'm confused by this,
the optimus V and the Optimus Slider both have the same processor.
One is just overclocked at stock.
So they both should have a application processor, A modem processor, And a graphics processor.
right?

thats what i thought

They both have the same chipset. OS is just clocked higher. Separate processors for I/O, graphics, and an arm6 cpu. It's the same chipset used in a lot of cheap smartphones, palm pre, htc wildfire, sanyo zio etc.

The OV in this case runs angry birds better because CM7 has hardware graphics acceleration optimizations not found in the stock LG build of 2.3. With the latest builds of CM7, my OV @ 768mhz is noticably smoother than my girlfriends OS @ 800mhz with the stock rom.

I agree. I have both the OV and OS. The OS is better stock but the OV has such a huge dev community, right now the OS can't compete not even remotley. Surely the dev will start opening up more to the OS community.but right now its at a stand still. But one thing I can promise you is that when and if we get cm7 ported to this device the dev will blow up and there will tons of add ons and builds etc for this phone. Which more than likely will put the OV in its grave.
