Sliders in notification

When you slide the notification bar down there are 2 sliders to control brightness and volume I think, can you turn those off, that takes so much space from the notification bar.

Open up the notification tray. Slide the quick setting buttons over till you get to Edit. Click the Edit button, and uncheck the Brightness and Volume options.

I have these disabled to save space, but a quick shortcut to them enabled so that if I long-press the settings button, they appear.
