Slight crack on Camera glass above the Flash, S20 Ultra.

Just curious, SnapDragon version or Exynos?

Checking JerryRigs teardown vid, the camera lense cover is an interesting setup.. lense cover assembly that's probably pressed into the back glass. I'm surprised its not the glass back that's getting the pressure around the lense cover assembly and cracking under pressure. Maybe as someone said a bad batch where the tolerances are a bit too much and cracks when the phone gets torqued a bit.

I never dropped mine and I have a crack. I started this thread, see above for pics.

Sometimes, glass and other materials just crack and break down. Think about the doors to your home and how they are easier to open in the summer and harder to open in the winter due to temperatures. Who knows? It's definitely possible it suffered this crack on its own.

Glass, and there are many different types is one of the strangest substances on the planet.
Neither solid nor liquid and subject to some of laws of hydraulics it behaves is surprising ways.
It's an amorphous solid who's structure internally changes over time, generally it gets stronger as it ages.
"Fresh" glass is much easier to score and cut predictably then old glass, glaziers know this.
Plastics exhibits similar properties.
Stressed tempered glass can shatter suddenly without warning, quit surprising to witness. It didn't just spontaneously disintegrate though; it had physical damage or stress invisible the eye. You can see the patterns of stress in it with polarized light, a sort of checker pattern.
Very strong but when it fails, its sudden.

You're right - glass is a very tricky and finicky solid that doesn't like to follow the rules!

Wow, Just checking on the Samsung Community post because I was reading a crazy post about Samsung's new lens cover where there was a report of... the cover (?!!) ... causing cracks to see if people were reporting cracking camera covers still... And the thread has gone from 12 pages over a week ago... to 24 pages and people still posting of their lens covers cracking.

My S20U took a swan dive on the concrete this weekend in a Pitaka case. Case has scuffs on three corners. The phone shows no signs of damage and it landed camera side down and one of the corners damaged on the case is the camera lens corner.

Dropped mine numerous times. I must be lucky.
The mysterious "my camera lens broke and I never dropped it" is nothing new to Samsung, LG and probably some other OEMs who go with a large lens over the cameras. A quick eBay search will show numerous lens replacements for many brands. It happened to me on an LG G5. Never dropped but reality is that if you put you device in your pocket or bag something can press up against it and break it so I don't really know for sure and I don't believe every me too claim out there. Spontaneous breakage can occur with tempered glass though so some people may have a legitimate claim. Unfortunately the numbers don't usually go high enough to warrant a class action suit.

So I just noticed a slight crack on the camera housing right above the flash on my S20 Ultra. It goes across that whole corner. I haven't even dropped my phone! There is nothing I can do, is there? I do have Samsung Care, but I'd have to pay the deductible. So at this point should I just wait until it gets worse, or something else happens? In my whole life, I've never cracked or damaged any phone I've had. I can't believe this has already happened.
My s20 has three huge cracks on the back from falling off of a bed unto a wooden floor. I have a case now and don't see the cracks.

when the op first commented on the issue i am sure no one would have expected to see more people having similar issues, so guess the op was customer zero with this issue.
