Slingbox player bad customer reviews

I was looking at all the good reviews of the sling box app on the android market. As I was just about to purchase the sling box player from amazon.com, I looked at all the horrible reviews from amazon of the sling box Pro HD that gave me second thoughts. People said it only came with a 90 day warranty and after the 90 days the sling box bricked. And also they said its terrible to install. Can anyone that Has a box confirm if its a good buy or not? Thank you.

I can't speak for the andriod version, I currently have a winmo phone.

I have just the slinbox solo, I have not had any issues with it. Firmware upgrades are simple and straight forward. Installation is a snap, you usually have to open up 2-3 ports for the slingbox to work, but some newer routers will do this automaticaly with the slingbox installation software. I use it on my laptop and mobile phone and haven't really had any quality issues with it as well. But quality does depend on the connection the slingbox is connected to and the network you are accessing it with.

Overall I would recomend it.

I have had a solo since 07 and it was simple to install and I have had 0 problems with it. We use it all the time and now even more on my EVO. I think sling products are great and easy to use.

I'm going to be upgrading to the Dishnetwork Sling loaded 922 reciever soon...
Looking forward to using it with the Android app...

Before you buy the pro make sure your up stream can handle pushing that much bandwidth. On lan it shouldn't be a big deal but if you are looking for hd like quality on your evo you better have a big pipe on both ends. Otherwise the solo should do just fine.
