Slingplayer tablet app on sale

I have the phone version already and it works great on my N7. I have considered upgrading to the tablet version but I am unsure what differences there will be and if it is worth the extra expense. Does anyone have both slingbox apps and can share if it is worth the extra money to invest in the tablet version?

Anyone have both the phone and tablet versions to compare? I have the phone version and it works "ok". Picture is a little grainy though, and just wondering if the Higher quality video in the Tablet version is worth it?

I'm using the phone version, my Slingbox is an older AV model, using a S-Video cable.
The picture quality is good, you can read the scrolls on the bottom of the screens of news and sports channels.
It's nice to be able to change the channel with a swipe.
But I am tempted to get the tablet version.
Guess I could use the 15 minute window and if the picture quality isn't that much better, I could "return" it.

My older AV Slingbox is incompatible with the tablet version, so fortunately I can still use the phone version with my Nexus 7.
That's $16.32 I saved for something else in Google Play.
It was worth a shot.

They did that on the iPad app, too. The tablet version only supports the newer HD model Slingbox. I have the older Pro model, and the phone version I already paid for works like a champ.

Any thoughts on installing the Kindle Fire version on the N7? My wife has a Fire with the Slingplayer and it does appear that the Fire optimized version is running sharper than the phone version on my N7. Her Fire is attached to my Amazon account so I wonder if I can see and download the Fire version of the app from the Amazon app store. Will try this out when I get home from work.
