SLOW (android) tablet start up?

I have had 2 different Android tablets and both took well over 30 seconds to start up. My Kindle Fire now takes 1 1/2 - 2 mins. to start up which is a BIG DRAG. I am wondering if slow start up is typical of the Android system in general? Surely people don't wait min+ for their phones to come to life?? Why is it acceptable for this on a tablet? (I only use like 2 apps and would toss all of Amazon's brick apps if I could).

Has this been a gradual worsening for the Kindle Fire? And which generation is it/how old is it? It's not unusual for an old device to slow down over the years.

What's the other tablet? Older versions of Android tend to have a longer bootup time than newer ones (I think because with newer versions, it gets you to the homescreen faster while other services are still starting up in the background).

My original tablet was one of the Nexus 7 - 2012. It slowed down too, but never as much as my current one - a Kindle Fire 7 (7th Generation) - has. It still takes 1 1/2 - 2 mins. to get to the home screen. And I have done everything I can to delete 'extra' apps, don't have music on it or photos and only use 2 apps - a database and a note app. Storage is almost empty too.

As much as I like having a small portable device to use, the time and usability of this tablet is making me think I'd be better off dragging my laptop around instead.

Is this a ploy to get everyone buying and using 'smart' phones instead?!? Surely those can't take a minute + to come to life?? Or maybe Amazon (like Google?!?) is pushing cloud usage? So much for 'owning' a device and having independent use of same.

Kindle Fire tablets are cheap and underpowered, so their performance will always be subpar compared to higher end devices. Have you already tried doing a factory reset and setting it back up again?

Hi there. Like B Diddy says, Fire tablets are usually cheap and slow. They run an older version of Android and they are designed to be used mainly by children or people who use the Amazon ecosystem. It will work sufficiently when started up but it won't start up quickly. Some people leave their tablets switched on most of the time and charge them when the battery gets low.
