This just started today -
I use two-factor authentication on a number of sites, requiring that I enter a code which I receive via SMS. I normally receive the SMS within a few seconds of the website transmitting it.
Each time I tried using this today, I waited and waited for the SMS to arrive; I finally realized that the SMS (or just the notification) does not arrive unless/until I open the Hangouts app; only then does the notification pop and the ringtone trigger.
Anyone else? I'm not sure if it is a Project Fi issue, a Hangouts issue, or a Pixel XL / Android 7.1 issue.
