slow wifi connection(lollipop)

everytime i try to connect to wifi it takes at least about 30 seconds but on KK it has quite fast is it me or everyone on lollipop having the same issue?

Mine and my wifes works just like it did before 5.0. I read in a post in this forum there is a fix out that corrects that but only for the F version of the S5 which I believe is the unbranded European phone (Please correct me of that is not 100% accurate).

Not sure when the US carriers will roll it out.

after the lollipop update, my note 4 takes like 30 seconds to respond every time I look at the web page. It is frustrating to say the least. But it works fine over the air. It is just wifi that is slow. if anybody has an answer for this it would be appreciated!

hi. My phone is working now with the wifi . I reset my router using the reset button. In addition I also temporarily removed WPA2 security and reset it again just to clear up any confusion the router may have w my phones update. I restarted security on the router. On my phone i had wifi forget the network. Then I reconnected to the network & manually entered my password to the network.

in a nutshell, I had both the router and the phone forget each other to clear up any confusion from the lollipop update.

It sounds as though you are on an old version of Lollipop. The latest release, OC7, connects immediately. To check your model and firmware build, see #1.2, #1.8 and #1.9 of 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

That's the model of S5 you have but not which of the 200+ different, stock Samsung, Lollipop firmwares for the G900F that you have on it.

I was able to fix this on my router. Apparently, Lollipop doesn't like 5ghz and AES on some routers. I set the wireless security to WPA+WPA2, set the encryption to AES+TKIP, and set the frequency to 2.4ghz only (G.) Works correctly now. Good luck.

yea my router has these 2 lights showing at 2.4ghz and 5ghz so and they are both lighted up
