SM-G9008V No GAPPS

Hey guys I was wondering if I could just flash another 4G LTE firmware on my unlocked Galaxy S5 like a Verizon version on it to get gapps. Also if that works will it keep my phone unlocked?

You have the Samsung Galaxy S5, G9008V, carrier minority variant for the China Mobile network, see #1.5 of 41 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide. This does not have the Google Apps package installed on it by default, in common with Chinese models.

You cannot simply flash a firmware for another model, such as Verizon, to this phone. You will need to root it to gain superuser access and then flash a Google Apps, (gapps), package to it by carefully reading and following the instructions in...

Since this phone is designed and has hardware for use on the China Mobile TDD-LTE network you may have issues, particularly 4G/LTE, using it on some other networks worldwide. See... Will My Phone Work?

Sorry for the late reply, I tried that method on my SM-G9008V and in odin its keeps saying fail when I tried to flash CWM Recovery on my S5 running lollipop.
